Homer is getting frazzled over hearing spoilers about the current blockbuster films but his rushed trip to see a new one ends with him decrying the smartphone-laden atmosphere and being thrown out of the movie theater by ushers. Bart later cheers him up by showing him how to download the movie illegally. Homer then decides to open a backyard theater to show movies downloaded from the Internet. Marge starts to feel guilty after watching the movie and sends a check along with an apology letter to Hollywood to repay the money for the tickets she should have bought. A manager in Hollywood receives the letter and alerts the FBI after using the rolled-up check to snort cocaine. At midnight, Homer quietly gets out of bed, visits each family member, who are all asleep, and says goodbye.
Homer considers it a treat, but the master chef soon returns and finds that the fish has not been prepared correctly and tells Homer that he may have been poisoned. After being filled in about the situation, Dr. Hibbert informs Homer that given the story Marge and the chef's had told him, it was very likely that he had accidentally consumed the poison of the blow-fish and if so he has twenty-four hours left to live. At night with Marge by his side, Homer plans not to tell his kids about the bad news and makes a list of all the activities he wants to do before he passes on. The episode was written by Nell Scovell and directed by Wes Archer.
Homer teen arrested after school shooting threat
After sampling most of the items on the menu, Homer orders sushi made from the fugu. Before placing his order, Akira tries to give Homer a minor warning, but is shooed to the kitchen as he is hungry. Knowing that the fish could possibly poison and kill Homer if not cut properly, one of the apprentices goes to fetch the master chef. Unfortunately, he is busy having sex with Edna Krabappel, and yells at the apprentice to leave him alone, so his apprentice has to slice the fugu himself. The apprentice tries to do it carefully, but Homer starts yelling impatiently, disturbing the apprentice and forcing him to serve it quickly and sloppily.

In "Homer Goes to College", Homer spikes the punch at a college dance with alcohol. Also in "The Springfield Connection", When Officer Marge catches Homer for illegal parking, Homer states his intention was to buy beer for Dolph, Jimbo & Kearney. In "Co-Dependent's Day", he frames Marge of drunk driving when he was the one guilty of the crime.

Homer area schools were placed on a “soft lockdown” Tuesday after the Homer Police Department was made aware of threats until the suspect was taken into custody. The episode received a 4.6 rating and was watched by a total of 12.04 million people, making it the most watched show on Animation Domination that night. Lisa takes the family to a Swedish consulate, since downloading movies is not illegal in Sweden.

In the episode, to combat the poor quality of today's movie theaters, Homer and Bart team up to illegally download movies and exhibit them in a makeshift theater in the backyard, but Homer ends up arrested by the FBI when Marge sends Hollywood a check and an apology note. Lisa convinces the family to try a new sushi restaurant, The Happy Sumo. An error by an apprentice chef leads to Homer eating a poisonous blowfish. Dr. Hibbert gives Homer twenty-four hours to live and he sets about placing his affairs in order.
She wakes him up and drums in the fact that he is alive, thus he hasn't consumed the venom of the blowfish. Homer then prances around in an overjoyed state and vows to live life to its fullest. In typical Homer fashion, he is soon back on the couch watching a bowling tournament and eating pork rinds during the credits.
Funny and somewhat intense, Kill the Alligator and Run is not a highlight of the eleventh season, but it is very enjoyable. In Steal This Episode, Homer started an outdoor cinema screening pirated movies, with no ads. The FBI arrested him after Marge told them about Homer's illegal cinema, however he escaped them. The Simpson family then sought asylum at the Consulate of Sweden in Springfield. In Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment, he pirated cable television and screened it to various townspeople.
In There's Something About Marrying, he held a sign reading "DEATH BEFORE GAY MARRIAGE", then ditching the sign and supporting same-sex marriage, becoming a minister for marriage, primarily catering to gay and lesbian people. Opposing same-sex marriage isn't necessarily a crime, but homophobia is. Attempted murder was Homer's worst crime in "Mypods and Boomsticks". He tried to kill Bashir bin Laden's Muslim family using an American flag cake that had poison in it.
The FBI waits outside the consulate for Homer to leave, unsuccessfully trying to force him out by playing Judas Priest music at high volume. While in hiding, Marge confesses to Homer that she turned him in. Homer, feeling betrayed, sadly surrenders to the FBI and is taken into custody. After oversleeping on his last day, Homer attempts to tackle the things on his list.
Leaving jail and with not much time left, he tells off Mr. Burns and has one last drink at Moe's Tavern with his friends, causing him to miss dinner with his waiting family. He then hurries home in time to say goodbye to the kids and make love to Marge. At midnight, Homer quietly leaves his bed and bids each family member goodbye while they sleep. He sits glumly in the living room listening to Larry King read the Bible on tape. The next morning Marge finds Homer collapsed in the armchair, realizes that his drool is still warm, and wakes him to joyfully inform him he is still alive. He resumes his life, watching a televised bowling tournament while eating pork rinds.
King's role was first offered to American singer Bruce Springsteen, but he turned it down. According to showrunner Sam Simon, actor William Shatner also rejected the part. The episode name is a parody of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss.
